le bocche is one of the most fashionable places in the gulf of poet: it is immersed in the splendid background of portovenere, a typical small village made up of narrow, multi-coloured tower houses that overlook the sea once much loved by the poet george gordon byron. the restaurant is located right in front of the sea in a very privileged spot on the suggestive promontory of st. peter’s church; the church was built in the 6th century and rebuilt in 1277 in its present gothic-byzantine style; it is marked externally by white and black stripes.
the panorama is amazing: the view runs westward to the cinqueterre and the promontory of mesco, and right in front of the small village at approximately one hundred meters stands the island of palmaria.
le bocche: its success is not just a coincidence; it is the result of some very basic choices made… the search to constantly improve on quality and to cater to a clientele in search of those magical emotions which tempting delicacies can give. |
